The Cancer, Obesity & Metabolic Research Lab is dedicated to understanding how stress-responsive signaling, epigenetic regulation, and transcriptional circuitry govern fat accumulation, lipid metabolism, and the progression of obesity, diabetes, NAFLD, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. Our research focuses on adipocyte biology, chromatin remodeling, metabolic reprogramming, and adipose-liver crosstalk to uncover tissue-specific mechanisms driving metabolic dysfunction and chronic disease pathogenesis. By integrating molecular biology, functional genomics, transcriptomics, lipidomics, and advanced translational approaches including conditional knockout mouse models, we aim to dissect the regulatory networks controlling adipocyte function, systemic metabolic homeostasis, and disease progression. Through mechanistic and translational studies, our goal is to identify novel therapeutic targets and develop innovative interventions for metabolic, cardiovascular, and cancer-associated disorders while advancing precision medicine and global health research.
