My name is Nandana, and I'm a mechanical engineering student at UCLA.
During the summer of 2025, I was an Engineering Design Intern at General Motors on the Front and Rear Closures team, where I improved my skills in NX modeling, analysis, and designing for manufacturability in sheet metal. I spent the summer of 2024 as a NSF-REU Research Intern at Vanderbilt University, researching alternative battery chemistries using computational chemistry techniques.Â
On campus, I'm involved in Bruin Formula Racing as a lead of our Electric Powertrain subteam. I'm also one of the instructors for ENGR 1: Combat Robotics, a project-based course offered by our engineering school where students build and compete an antweight combat robot in 10 weeks. Finally, I'm a subsystem lead (Suspension/Chassis) for the University Rover Challenge team at UCLA, which builds a Mars-style rover each year.
Outside of building things, you'll find me vising museums around LA or the Bay Area, drinking tea, or trying new foods!
