"We want our students
to leave whatever
math experience
they have with a sense of joy, wonder, and beauty.”
- Robert Berry, Ph. D, enVision Author, NCTM President ‘18-’20, Author: Principles to Actions
All enVision® lessons begin with a problem-based learning experience that promotes collaboration and engagement. Students are encouraged to share their unique perspectives and bring their cultural experiences to the discussion.
Embedded 3-Act Mathematical Modeling lessons make learning contextual. Unlike traditional math problems, 3-Act Math lets students choose the strategy to solve the problem. It leverages student voice and cultural capital.
enVision® STEM projects encourage all students to explore situations that address real-world social, economic, and environmental issues. Students make connections between content and their convictions. The projects fuel discussions, group work, and inclusive STEM practices for all learners.
Pick a Project gives students voice and choice in math. Students can explore areas of interest and complete math projects of their choosing, which validate their own lived experiences. The projects build self-confidence, recognize unique backgrounds, reduce competition, and promote inclusion.
The Language Support Handbook helps teachers support the linguistic needs of diverse learners. Activities let students respond differently through one or more modalities: reading, writing, listening, speaking, and representing.
Savvas supports teachers in making real change in their classroom by helping:
