Sierra Vista High School ~ 11th Grade Team

They are particularly adept at working together to find ways to engage students in formative activities to achieve success while building a strong sense of classroom community.

myPerspectives® Supporting Students in the Performance-Based Assessments

May 1

We have three big opportunities in each myPerspectives unit to deeply engage our students, enhance their self-efficacy, and strengthen their content knowledge and literacy skills: the two Performance Tasks and end-of-unit Performance Based Assessment (PBA). In this session, we’ll revisit students’ pathway to these three tasks, and we will describe the role we play as teachers supporting students in that journey. We’ll also closely read the instruction wrapped around each Performance Task and PBA to identify some helpful Do’s and Don’ts for our instruction.

Tier 1 Instructional Materials: ELA for Learning Strategists Session 2

This session is for Learning Strategists.

May 7

Have you ever noticed that students are chatty in the hallways but quiet in class? What if we found ways to harness students’ desire to communicate with peers and used that to scaffold and strengthen their content area knowledge and skills? In this session, we’ll explore ways to do just that! With readily applicable routines and resources, we will practice making discourse meaningful – and memorable.
