Expectations of the Players

EXPECTATIONS OF THE PLAYERS:

From the very beginning we set out to be different... to create a culture for our girls that would act as the very framework of them learning valuable lessons both on and off the pitch, learning more and becoming better throughout life. In short, it's as much about soccer, as it is about life. As it's stated, there is no I in TEAM and WE HAVE THE BEST PLAYERS who are committed to not only helping us accomplish our goals on the soccer pitch, but off it just the same!

All that said, in addition to the awesome girls that make up this team, what makes us great is we hold ourselves to very high standards and push each other toward improvement!

It is expected that our team players...

• will ALWAYS act as responsible role models!
• will be supportive of team initiatives, objectives and goals.
• will take team and teammate responsibility seriously...
  1. committing to attend all practices and games, making certain they arrive on time, are ready to go, willing to participate and able to develop with the team.
  2. giving full attention during training sessions and games.
  3. always working hard to improve upon their technical skills in the game and tactical understanding of the game.
  4. understanding that the amount of playing time received is based upon practice, performance, punctuality, attitude and ability to meet the needs of the team.
  5. being courteous and respectful of other players, parents, competitors, officials, etc... THIS TEAM DOES NOT TOLERATE ANYTHING OF THE CONTRARY - EVER!
  6. exhibiting good sportsmanship at all times and demonstrating better behaviors regardless of circumstances... WE MAINTAIN A WORLD-CLASS and TOP-TIER REPUTATION!
  7. notifying coaches if and when any conflict arises as soon as possible so alternative plans can be adjusted as needed for the good of the team.
  8. maintaining exceptional grades in school all the while being a distinguished athlete!
• will contact coaches directly with any comments, questions, suggestions and or concerns without delay.

As a player, I...

• will play for the good of the game and push myself and others to learn more and become better!
• will promise to work hard at home, in practices, during scrimmages and throughout games in order to improve my soccer skills, as well as my understanding of the sport.
• will understand the amount of playing time I receive is based upon practice, performance, punctuality, attitude and ability. I understand, based upon these factors, that I may receive more or less playing time as compared to my teammates and that playing time is not guaranteed.
• will have a positive attitude, give everything I can to help this team be successful and never quit.
• will exemplify and demonstrate sportsmanship at all times.
• will win and lose the same, without boasting or being negative... generous in a win and respectful in a lose.
• will conduct myself with class and dignity… being professional at all times!
• will be respect of all coaches and officials and accept their decisions without question.
• will give encouragement to my fellow teammates and work hard to help them learn more and become better!
• will attend all practices, scrimmages and games, as well as arrive on time and be ready, willing and able to start when requested.
• will notify the coach or team manager if I will be late for or unable to attend a practice, scrimmage or game.
• will prepare myself properly, including but not limited to physical health and wellness in order to be able to actively participate in all team practices, scrimmages and games.
• will immediately report any injury or other soccer-related issue to my coach.
• will be respectful of other players, including opponents, parents and coaches.
• will abide by my coach’s decision regarding playing time and positioning.
• will learn and obey the laws of the game.
• will practice individual soccer skills on my own time - AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK!
• will BE THE BEST I CAN BE AT ALL TIMES AND IN ALL PLACES FOR MYSELF, MY TEAM, MY CLUB AND THE OTHERS WE REPRESENT!

As a player, I will NEVER...

• engage in dissent toward another player, parent, coach or official.
• use profane or vulgar language - EVER!
• use drugs, alcohol, tobacco or other detrimental and or dangerous items that are harmful to me or others.
• leave a practices, scrimmage or game without the permission of my coach.

PLEASE NOTE: Violation of any of these items may be the basis for suspension or dismissal from the team!
