These terms govern your use of the NutriScan mobile application published by Techtenstein ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them.
NutriScan estimates the nutritional content of food using artificial intelligence, and helps you track meals, weight, water, and habits. NutriScan is a wellness tool, not a medical device. Nutrition values, health scores, meal plans, coach responses, and menu rankings are AI-generated estimates and can be wrong. They are not medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your diet or health, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or manage a condition such as diabetes or an eating disorder.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your region). You may use the app without an account; some features (cloud backup, social) require signing in. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
Premium is a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store. Payment is charged to your store account; subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are managed and cancelled through your store account settings — deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. A one-time free trial may be offered; unused trial time is forfeited on purchase. In-app "coins" are a virtual feature with no monetary value; they cannot be purchased, redeemed, exchanged for money, or transferred, and may be changed or reset as part of app updates.
The free tier is supported by advertising served by Google AdMob, including optional rewarded ads that grant coins. Ad availability is not guaranteed. Premium removes ads.
You agree not to: misuse or attempt to disrupt the service; reverse engineer the app except where the law permits; use automated means to farm coins, referrals, or leaderboard standings; impersonate others; or upload unlawful or infringing content. We may suspend accounts that abuse social or referral features.
Photos you scan and content you enter remain yours. You grant us the limited license needed to process them for the app's features (for example, sending a meal photo to the AI provider for analysis, or storing your backup in your account's cloud space). Your display name and photo are shown to friends you accept in social features.
The app relies on third-party services — including Firebase (Google), Google AdMob, Groq, Google Gemini, Apple HealthKit / Android Health Connect, and the Open Food Facts database — each governed by its own terms. Barcode nutrition data comes from Open Food Facts, a community database provided under the Open Database License; we do not guarantee its accuracy.
The app, its design, and its content (excluding your content and third-party data) are owned by Techtenstein and protected by law. These terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of nutrition estimates, or uninterrupted availability. AI output may contain errors; verify anything important.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Techtenstein is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits, IP) survive termination.
We may add, change, or remove features, and may update these terms. We will update the effective date above and highlight material changes in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Techtenstein is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules; mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence are unaffected.
