What is NUS Science BASH?

BASH is a Freshman Orientation Programme (FOP) for Faculty of Science (FOS) students to showcase various talents through dances, catwalks, acting, or any other talents as well like singing or playing instruments.

We also host numerous events throughout the year, including: BASH Night, Limelight, Halloween and Valentine's Day booths! Our main events are Limelight and BASH Night.

Science BASH aims to give students from FOS a chance to step into the spotlight and seize their moment!

Theme & Motto

2026 Theme: BASH to the Future

A celebration of time, growth and possibility, BASH to the Future invites freshmen to embark on a journey through the past, present and future. As the final FOS FOP, BASH closes the chapter on all FOPs and mark the official academic beginning of freshmen's university journey, thus acting as a moment to reflect the endless possibilities freshmen have in their upcoming days. Through performances inspired by different eras, the stage comes alive with nostalgic performances from the past and modern expressions. Ultimately, the theme celebrates growth and transformation of freshmen, reminding them of their new and exciting future in university.

Motto: Carpe Diem - Seize the Day

Our motto reflects the spirit of empowering all students to seize every opportunity, take risks and embrace the spotlight. Carpe Diem is a call for freshmen and all other science students to step out of their comfort zones, own their performances and make the most out of their university journey. It serves as a reminder to be bold, live in the present and truly seize the day.
