Introduction to the Science of Reading (TK-3) - VIRTUAL
Every child has the right to read. How can we leverage years of scientific research to ensure that our instructional practices best meet the needs of the students in our classrooms? Together, we will explore the foundations of early literacy, deconstruct and discuss the different strands of Scarborough's Rope (word recognition and language comprehension), and examine how we can leverage classroom, school, and district resources to ensure that every child has the opportunity to become a reader. Please note: this is a repeat of the Fall 2023 series.
Because the series is focused on the foundations of literacy, it's recommended for educators and administrators who work with students in grades TK-3, or for educators who work with older students in an intervention or special education setting.
This is a three-session series; participants are strongly encouraged to attend all sessions to ensure a complete learning experience. Registered participants will receive the Zoom link one week prior to the first session.
