Biography

Peter received his Bachelor of Science in 2011 and Master of Science in 2013, both from Cornell University and in Civil Engineering with a focus on environmental fluid mechanics. Continuing his research with Professor Philip Liu, Peter is currently a PhD student at Cornell University, and aims to finish in January 2018. For his PhD work, Peter employs a combination of numerical and analytical approaches to examine the applicability of various approximate water wave equations to tsunamis generated by a landslide.

Peter is a fluid mechanics enthusiast, both inside and outside his office. When he is not in his office, Peter enjoys whitewater kayaking, windsurfing, and skiing. Seeing the connections between his research and his hobbies continually refreshes his passion for the subject of environmental fluid mechanics and keeps him highly motivated.
