What is the academic workload like?
The average academic workload per Semester will likely be higher given that most E-Scholars are attempting to complete a 4-year degree in 3 years, or a 5 year Double Degree Programme in 4 years. However, you have the freedom to plan your academic workload for each semester! E-Scholars are also eligible to take certain Advanced Placement Tests (APTs) before their first Semester to offset modules. The scholarship also supports E-Scholars financially in summer/winter school programmes and special term modules, which is a way to clear modules, to reduce the academic workload during the regular semester.
Do E-Scholars have time to pursue other things?
Definitely! Many E-Scholars are involved in Residential College Interest Groups/NUS CCAs. Quite a number hold leadership positions in these groups/CCAs as well. Outside of NUS activities, E-Scholars also embark on unique personal projects. These range from self-initiated volunteering projects to tech and engineering related projects -- You could refer to our Instagram page @nusescholars to view some of these projects!
What are the Advanced Placement Tests (APTs) to take?
The illustration below shows the APTs available for the different engineering degrees. More details can also be found here.
Yes, if you are taking the APT, the link to the resources for APT revision will likely to be sent to you via email. Some tutoring sessions may also be organised by the E-Scholars Student Committee. It may even be a good opportunity to work together with your batchmates to prepare for your APTs and get to know one another better!
