Nur Yiğitoğlu Aptoula

My research is situated at the intersection of second language writing, second language acquisition, academic literacy, language teacher education, and emerging technologies. My scholarship examines the development of writing across languages, the acquisition of expertise in writing pedagogy, the role of feedback in shaping writing development, and the transformative implications of generative artificial intelligence for academic writing and language education. My current research agenda focuses on AI literacy, responsible and pedagogically informed uses of generative AI in second language writing, writing teacher education, and the evolving relationship between human expertise and artificial intelligence in educational contexts. Through this work, I seek to advance theoretically grounded and empirically informed understandings of writing, teaching, and learning in increasingly AI-mediated academic environments.  In recognition of my contributions to research, I was among the recipients of the 2023 Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) Outstanding Young Scientists Awards (GEBİP).
