MBE191020 | DESIGN THESIS | RECURSIVE WORKBASE
The role of the urban scale in responding to sustainability challenges is increasingly recognized. Singapore has set the goal to making cities “inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable” as per SDG 11 for 2030. By using the concept of pi.xel the building apply a repeatable and scalable building system like a modular building which will create economic and sustainable design-build process using mass engineered timber (MET). Combine with prefabrication, a step towards sustainable building can be achieved. The aim of this research is to integrate a pixel concept that emphasizes on sustainable planning by using timber prefabricated architecture. The proposal is expected to shed light, especially on the construction sector and pushing the boundaries of timber construction.
