SUSTAINABILITY

I participated in interdisciplinary projects involving departments such as Archaeology, Green Chemistry, Biology, Health Sciences, Politics, and the Environmental Institute. As a scholar in business management, I presented emerging evidence from numerous companies, particularly those owned by global brands, that are transitioning their business strategies from traditional to sustainable models. During my presentation, I encouraged the audience to observe the evolution of sustainable business practices and consumer behavior over time. This presentation integrated my research interests in marketing strategy, entrepreneurship, and business history. I discussed with the audience how customers interact with the environment when making purchasing decisions and the environmental impacts of their choices.

Sustainability in the cosmetics industry is increasingly gaining attention due to its significant environmental and social impacts. Current research highlights the importance of reducing waste, sourcing sustainable ingredients, and minimizing the carbon footprint of production processes. Innovations such as biodegradable packaging, refillable containers, and the use of natural, ethically sourced ingredients are becoming more prevalent.

The future of the global cosmetics market is likely to be shaped by sustainability trends, driven by consumer demand for eco-friendly and socially responsible products. Brands that adopt sustainable practices are expected to gain competitive advantages, as consumers increasingly prefer products that align with their values.

Sustainability in the cosmetics industry is crucial for several reasons. Environmentally, it helps reduce pollution, conserve resources, and mitigate climate change. Socially, it promotes ethical labor practices and supports communities involved in the supply chain. Overall, sustainable practices in the cosmetics industry contribute to the well-being of the planet and society, fostering a more equitable and environmentally conscious global market.
