DR. NUR SUHAILI BINTI RAMLI (Ph.D, MBA, BTech)
Dr. Nur Suhaili (known as Dr. Elly) is an accomplished entrepreneur and social scientist, currently serving as a Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Management at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. With a diverse international background, she has lived in various countries and currently resides in a multicultural neighborhood, providing her with a profound understanding of diversity.
Dr. Elly completed her Postdoctoral research at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Italy and earned her PhD in Management from the University of York, United Kingdom. Her extensive teaching and research experience spans undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Italy, Malaysia, and the UK. She specializes in subjects including entrepreneurship, International Business, Marketing Strategy, Business Research, Information technology for Business Management, Principles of Economics, Microeconomics, and Innovation. Her experience, skills, and innovation have been recognized through her role as an instructor at H-FARM, one of Europe's largest innovation hubs.
Her international experience is further enriched by her roles as a Visiting Scholar in the United States, Japan, Malaysia, Russia, and Italy. She has presented her research at numerous international and national conferences, such as the European Union, Erasmus Conferences, Falling Walls Conference, European Business History Association (EBHA), Association of Business Historians (ABH), and Associazione Studi Storici sull'impresa (ASSI), among others, primarily across Europe.
Before embarking on her academic career, Dr. Elly worked as a Computer Network Security Analyst for ExxonMobil and as a SAP HR Consultant for NorthgateArinso. In these roles, she served prestigious clients including Enel Energia Italy, Bank of America, Barclay's Capital UK, and EuHReka Belgium.
Dr. Elly has received numerous academic research scholarships and travel grant awards. Her publications have garnered significant citations, contributing to her current h-index of 5. She actively disseminates her research to both academic and non-academic audiences through various media platforms, including newspapers, radio interviews, blogs, global summits, and social media.
Her primary research interests include marketing strategy, branding and brand development, identifying entrepreneurial opportunities, global brands, competitiveness, and business history. Dr. Elly’s multidisciplinary background in business management, information technology, and the arts consistently informs her innovative approach to her work.
A notable achievement in her career includes her project being awarded a Global Finalist Honourable Mention by NASA in the SpaceApps Challenge 2022, selected from 443 projects worldwide. Her previous project was a Global Nominee in the SpaceApps Challenge 2018, ranking among the top four from 877 virtual participants globally. Additionally, she was recognized as one of the Top 100 Young Innovators worldwide by Falling Walls Conference.
Dr. Elly is a member of the 500 Women Scientists Association and has been nominated as an Associate Member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society, an invitation-only association. She is passionate about the future of industrial and academic collaboration and global business opportunities. Currently, she is leveraging her marketing strategy expertise to help local brands in the beauty industry, particularly through sustainability and halal certifications, to achieve global recognition.
