Following my field experience in Guatemala, I created Canvas modules and supportive documents and lessons that could be helpful to nursing educators leading similar study abroad experiences.
This course is designed to give undergraduate nursing students as much opportunity as possible to get a look behind the scenes into as many different nursing specialties as can be accomplished in a standard 10 week quarter. The purpose is to help students who are unsure of their career path as a nurse find a department where they feel that is a good fit for them, perhaps based on the types of care the nurses provide, the work life balance, or something else entirely.
Simulations and in-person clinical experiences are an important part of the undergraduate program for nursing. This literature review dives into comparing the newer format of online, or virtual simulations, and how they compare to the traditional methods.
Research paper comparing traditional simulation labs, in classroom simulations, and virtual simulations as different teaching methods for use in nursing programs.
Research project to develop a new onboarding process for new hired operating room nurses at the Outpatient Surgical Center where I work.
Poster presentation focusing on the importance of warming fluids for use during surgery for better patient outcomes.
A research paper cowritten with Sarina Dawa in my undergraduate nursing program looking at lung cancer in America.
A paper on my personal philosophy on nursing and health, written in 2020 for my undergraduate nursing program at Seattle Pacific University.
