Ecuador and Peru

This year was filled with exotic travel, and this trip takes the cake on that account.

Brittany and I have been planning this trip for years... literally. We originally were going to go on it in 2020, but then COVID shut the world down and we had to postpone. The next time we scheduled it was supposed to be in 2023... Until I got the opportunity to go with my school to Guatemala and Brittany told me of course I should do that! So, we tried again for 2024, and it finally happened!

We started with a day in Quito, Ecuador where we got to take pictures at the equator site and visit the touristy area around it, before travelling to one of my bucket list locations: the Galapagos Islands.

The Galapagos were everything I hoped they would be. The tortoise reserve was informational and included a little spelunking and getting the chance to crawl inside an actual giant tortoise carapace. The snorkeling was freezing but AMAZING with fish, sharks, turtles, sea lions, and even penguins! The seafood was delicious, the weather was pleasant and warm... 10/10 would go back and explore even more islands next time around.
