Schedule

Day: Class runs from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. 

Evening: An evening program would be new for our organization. Evening hours could potentially be flexible based on the instructor's availability. Example hours could be 3:30 PM or 4 PM to start and be 4 or 5 hours per night (ending between 7:30 PM and 9 PM). We would expect the course to likely be Monday through Thursday, or possibly Fridays as well.

Flexible hours: Instructor can work anywhere from 50 to 100 percent of the course, as a second instructor may be available to assist in instructing part of the course

CareBridge Academy is a  training school dedicated to providing instruction and training of candidates through both it's home health aide training class along with its certified nurse aide training program.

It is an exciting time, as CareBridge Academy is a brand new program that was recently launched and established within the Philadelphia area. The nurse aide instructor will work alongside the program director, a compassionate and energetic Philadelphia resident and the head clinical instructor.

An approved RN instructor can teach up to 100 percent of the program. An LPN instructor can teach up to 49 percent of the school's CNA training program, per state regulations. This program runs 120 hours in total, and is completed in 5 weeks for full-time classes or 10 weeks for part-time/weekend classes.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nurse Aide Training Instructor oversees the educational program, including planning, implementation, evaluation, and onsite review of the nursing assistant training at the nursing center. He/she is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with state and federal guidelines and adherence to the philosophy and mission of CareBridge Academy.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Plans, develops, and coordinates the certified nursing assistant and/or home health aide program for CareBridge Academy and state required activities.

• Participating in ongoing development and evaluation of the training program alongside the Program Director and Main Clinical Instructor.

• Implementing the approved training program per the approved curriculum.

• Supervising classroom laboratory experiences.

• Evaluating student performance in the classroom.

• Providing supervision and clinical evaluation of each trainee at the clinical training site.

• Supervises and monitors students throughout evaluation period.

• Assists in the prescreening candidates as applicable.

• Assists management in evaluation of job performance of school's employees.

• Directs and/or assists in development and implementation of nursing center orientation/ mentoring for the CNA training program.

• Makes center rounds in all customer care areas to assist with maintaining quality nursing assistant services rendered.

• Participates in interdepartmental meetings as needed.

• Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance Process, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA.

• Promptly reports concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance to supervisor, Compliance Liaison or to the Compliance Officer via the Integrity Hotline.

• Cooperates with monitoring and audit functions and investigations.

• Participates, as requested, in quality assurance and process improvement activities.

Specific Educational/Vocational Requirements

• The Nursing Assistant Instructor must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current registered nurse (RN) licensure by the State Board of Nursing.

• Maintain current CPR certification.

• A minimum of two years full-time or equivalent clinical experience is required and a minimum of one year of clinical experience in long-term care/geriatric, and/or home health nursing.

• Provide evidence of having taken and completed Pennsylvania's Teach the Educator (TTE) Workshop in the past.

• Previous experience teaching adults is preferred.

• This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.

Guardian Healthcare is looking for a Travel Nurse Aide Instructor/Clinical Educator to mentor and teach candidates our state certified nurse aide curriculum as well as to develop and implement clinical education programs, competencies, and manage onboarding process into the Guardian culture. This position would facility trainings in our Southwest PA Guardian Healthcare facilities in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.

This position is responsible to be on site to instruct the theory, lab, and clinical portions of the 129 hours Nurse Aide class, working with 6-10 students at a time when a class is in session, as well as to educate facility staff on clinical skills, policies, processes, and CPR certification as needed. The instructor will also follow the students and provide support through the state examination process.

We are looking for a primary instructor with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as an RN that includes one year or 12 months of employment in a long-term care facility equal to or greater than 200 hours and of course must have completed the Teaching the Educator workshop offered by PSU.  The Nurse Aid class will start at some point after 7/1/22 so we can have our current LPN instructor teach the majority of the class hours.  Classes currently run Monday through Thursdays from 5pm to 9pm.  The program runs for 125 hours – 40 hours of clinical and 85 hours of classroom/lab time.  We like to run two sessions each year one in the spring and one in the fall.  Class size is usually held to a maximum of 10 and we are currently paying instructors $35 an hour.  If you pass this on to any possible individual you think may be interested please have them e-mail me a resume and contact information ASAP.  Thanks again for any help you can provide.

• Implementing the approved training program per the approved curriculum.

• Supervising classroom laboratory experiences.

• Evaluating student performance in the classroom.

• Providing supervision and clinical evaluation of each trainee at the clinical training site.

• Supervises and monitors students throughout evaluation period.

• Assists in the prescreening candidates as applicable.

• Assists management in evaluation of job performance of school's employees.

• Directs and/or assists in development and implementation of nursing center orientation/ mentoring for the CNA training program.

• Makes center rounds in all customer care areas to assist with maintaining quality nursing assistant services rendered.

• Participates in interdepartmental meetings as needed.

• Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance Process, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA.

Specific Educational/Vocational Requirements

• Maintain current CPR certification.

The Health Occupations Technology Instructor prepares individuals for entry-level employment in a minimum of three related health occupations under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional. Instruction consists of core course content with clinical experiences in one or two health related occupations.
