The current pollution may cause hazard to humanity as landfills in Johor (including Kota Tinggi) takes up 40% of organic waste that originate from food scraps. The decomposition of food waste in landfills produce methane gas which also contribute to greenhouse effect that may lead to hidden serious issue which is climate change effect. The percentage of food waste in landfills recorded is around 24% of the food scrap is categorised as edible. Reduction of food waste shall begin with the change of habit in food culture individually and commercially through exposure and education. As Kota Tinggi is also facing the issue of underutilize buildings in central town where by this leads to an approach to use adaptive reuse intervention as part of revitalization of the town.  The loss of place for community engagement and attraction leads an intention of a placemaking for locals as well as making it as a landmark for attraction. Therefore this pre-thesis proposed a food nexus as integrated sustainable food cycle .
