This organization is based in the city of Ciudad Juárez. Juárez is a city in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico. Their current presidents and founders are Norma Andrade and Marisela Ortiz. The organization was founded in 2001. Starting as relatives and friends of girls/women who have disappeared or been murdered in Chihuahua. This organization demands justice for the women and girls who have been murdered/disappeared in the area since 1993. While also offering a community and support for those who are affected by this injustice.
Deaths and disappearances of women/girls still continues today and constantly increasing as each year passes. This is known as femicide. “NHRC integrates families from Ciudad Juárez, since then hundreds of people have joined our work: human rights defenders, professionals, artists, academics, psychologists, etc., of both national and international origin, and unfortunately, more families affected by these facts (website)”
