Exactly! But still, is it really that hard to implement for Steinberg? ProTools has it, Logic Pro has it and I suppose many others as well. Honestly one cannot expect from every VST manufacturer they create their plugins in ANY surround sound configuration out there. And there are a lot of them lately haha!

I guess you have a point. But still I think it is up to the developer of plugins to offer scalability in VST3, if it is possible at least. Which seems to be the case.

Otherwise steinberg would have to reinvent there whole automation workflow (assumption by me). This is not a small thing i imagine.

If you want to test: create a vocal track that all positions/channels you need and pan them accordingly. Center to center etc. Use the plugins and re-import the renders to analyse the mix/processing of the channels.

When using surround you have to keep the psychoacoustic spaces in mind such as arena, church, chembar, hall and plugins have to at some point radiate in. Even here in a culturally governed space, this is a major issue, esp. where we are that is (south and east asia or Indo China belt) where psychoacoustic spaces are radically different and the way it gets defined are currently not reproducible using standard DAW toolset, so great care is taken at the recording stage itself.

In India Music happens in between two notes which is a challenge because most DAW are internally modeled on Western representation.

Back when we were on Nuendo4, Waves plugins would delay loading time of the DAW for as much as 4 minutes. The switch to Nuendo8 happened at the same time as a new PC installed in the control-room. The faster/more powerful PC seemed to be the difference-maker.

The video shows that Its repeatable, even on a barebones Nuendo.

with no external plugins and any audio clip, just an empty template.

and Yes I have booted the machine.

This is the same project in Fairlight, No issues.

If you just get rid of the plugins from the folder but leave them in your project I would actually expect that you would still get problems. I think you would also need to get rid of them in your project.

thanks for the quick reply! well the strange thing is that there is no switch to plugin editor for some reason! for any of the plugins i just checked. i have no idea which global setting that would be i have not done this on purpose!

Extract and run the installer in update mode

Do not mark anything in the checklist page

Follow the installation steps till it finishes

Run the installer again

Uninstall Waves

Go to your plug-ins folder and manually remove all the files that the installer did not

Waves Folders: C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves & C:\Program Files\Waves

Default plug-in folders (to remove the shells):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

C:\Program Files\Vstplugins

C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins

Run the installer again, install your bundle - this should get you back up & running.

Hi THambrecht!

Thank you for the message.

I do not think in my case is a matter of the graphical card. I am using an AMD Radeon RX6650 XT with 8GB Ram and I understand is well enough to handle the 3 monitors.

I am using official Yamaha Nuage system with Yamaha converters via DANTE so I also do not think is a matter of the sound card.

I think in my case is a matter of compatibility of some plugins with the system (of course graphic card could be related but not because is not capable enough to do the job)

Also what is strange is that is happening with some plugins that I have been using before in this same system with no problems.

Thanks

For our Nuendo Users, ZYLIA plugins are also supported by this DAW. On this post you will find a few guidelines for recording with the ZYLIA ZM-1 microphone and setting up the routing to use ZYLIA Ambisonics Converter plugin and ZYLIA Studio Pro plugin.

Below you can find a screenshot that demonstrate this configuration on Nuendo 10.

Most of the plugins already worked as Insert effects in Cubase and Nuendo Ambisonics tracks/buses. In the newest versions I have improved the integration of aXPanner and aXMonitor so that they can be loaded in the panner slot. This makes working with the aXPlugins in Cubase and Nuendo that little bit easier and more pleasant.

Usually there is some version of an option to add or remove VST directory. Search the manual. I downloaded it and found it in about three shakes and a sip of Scotch. Or was that one shake and three sips of Scotch. I found it in the Operation Manual under the chapter Audio Effects, sub-chapter installing and managing effects and plugins. Pg 186. ^_^

dude if it works dont mess with it. i often wonder why when installing plugins you get them in folders in the progam files folder or they just show up as dll's in the VST folder in Nuendo 4 main folder. ithink all you hae to do is go to "plugin information" and hit "update" and have nuendo grab your plugs, go to "VST 2x plugin paths" and make sure your paths are there, and then "update plugin information" and then look at your list of plugs in the screen to see if all your plugs are there.

i wouldnt worry about their location as much as if they even showup at all. follow those steps and you should be all good

Renoise 3.3 does not find VST3 plugins if they are in another folder than C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

I am manually placing my VST3 plugins into another folder (which is specified in Renoise and also contains my VST2 plugins). Reaper has no problem with that and finds all the VST3 plugins in there just fine. But Renoise does not find them at all, only if they are in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. I think that should be changed, so that Renoise recognizes VST3 plugins (*.vst3 files) in any VST directory path that is specified within the settings.

@Mastrcode Even though this is indeed the official standard, you can simply move the .vst3 files to somewhere else, thats all fine for example with Reaper, it just finds and uses them from any directory where you place them. I have been using VST3 plugins from my custom directories for a while without problems in Reaper. The same goes for example with DDMF MetaPlugin, this can also read the .vst3 files from anywhere you want. They do NOT need to be in the Common Files directory at all. Maybe thats needed if you are using Cubase, which I dont. I am sure that taktik can do a similar behavior like Reaper and DDMF Metaplugin and let Renoise scan and use VST3 files anywhere. He could indeed keep the standard location and just make it optional to also use .VST3 files from somewhere else. As I said, thats working with Reaper, DDMF MetaPlugin and many other VST3 supporting hosts.

The VST3 specs encourage to use the specified default paths only. If everyone would do so, this would simplify installation for plugins and the default setup for hosts. So we definitely should use those paths by default.

While I agree that this finally should be selectable in Renoise directly, I didnt have a single issue with the symbol link yet. Which plugins didnt work for you? I have a lot, and none gave issues. 0852c4b9a8
