# Privacy Policy for Nudge
**Effective date: July 24, 2026**
Nudge is provided by Czechner Ince ("we", "us", or "our"). This policy
explains how Nudge handles information when you use the Android application.
## Information Nudge handles
### Information stored on your device
Nudge stores the following information locally:
- The apps you choose to guard
- Your scrolling and nudge counts
- Your friction settings and onboarding status
- A cached record of your Nudge Plus entitlement
This information is used to provide Nudge's core scrolling-friction features.
Your selected apps, scrolling history, and nudge counts are not uploaded to our
servers.
### Firebase information
Nudge uses Google Firebase to create an anonymous installation identity and may
process:
- A randomly generated anonymous Firebase user identifier
- App version and build number
- Device platform
- Basic app interactions, diagnostics, and performance information provided by
Firebase Analytics
- Timestamps showing when the app installation record was created or last used
Nudge disables advertising-ID collection and does not use Firebase information
for personalized advertising.
## Accessibility Service
Nudge uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when an app selected by
you is in the foreground and to count scrolling events. This is necessary to
decide when to show Nudge's pull-through control.
Nudge does not use the Accessibility Service to read or collect typed text,
messages, passwords, or screen content. Accessibility information about your
chosen apps and scrolling remains on your device and is not uploaded to our
servers.
## Display over other apps
Nudge requests permission to display over other apps so it can show the small
pull-through control above a guarded app. The overlay is used only to provide
this feature.
## Purchases
Nudge Plus purchases are processed by Google Play. Nudge receives purchase and
entitlement status from Google Play to unlock paid features. We do not directly
collect or store your payment-card details. Google's handling of purchase
information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
## How information is used
Information is used to:
- Provide and maintain Nudge
- Restore Nudge Plus purchases
- Understand basic app usage and diagnose reliability problems
- Record the installed app version
- Notify users when an important update is available
We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
## Sharing and service providers
Information may be processed by Google services used by Nudge, including
Firebase and Google Play Billing. These providers process information according
to their own privacy policies and our service configuration. We do not share
information with data brokers or advertising networks.
## Retention and deletion
The anonymous Firebase installation record is retained while backend
synchronization remains enabled. You can open **Privacy & data** in Nudge and
select **Delete my cloud data**. This deletes the anonymous Firebase record,
resets the app's Firebase Analytics identifier, and disables future analytics
and installation-record synchronization.
Local settings and scrolling statistics remain on your device until you reset
them, clear Nudge's app data, or uninstall the app.
## Security
Nudge uses encrypted network connections and limits Firebase database access
through authentication and security rules. No method of storage or transmission
is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited
information Nudge processes.
## Children's privacy
Nudge is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from children under 13.
## Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Nudge or its service providers change. The
effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
