The aim of this Nuclear Theory Group is to bring together nuclear scientists from around the globe and raise an online platform for interactions and discussions.
We try to conduct regular discussions and presentations in research areas such as nuclear structure, nuclear reactions, nuclear astrophysics, gravitational waves, dark matter, etc. We also encourage seminars on general topics such as article writing, choices and ethics in research, etc.
Abstract: Most of the most spectacular astrophysical phenomena observed in recent years, as gravitational waves, strongly rely on the underlying comprehension of nuclear physics phenomena.
In my talk, I will present the activity done by the York group to improve our knowledge on the equation of state of neutron stars. I will discuss the recent progress made in terms of statistical methods to improve calculations and to investigate the impact of nuclear uncertainties on astrophysical results in a more systematic way.
