NUCLEAR ASSAULT - How they butt f*cked me and why I couldn't respond
Taken from a Facebook post

If you were a regular at L'Amour between 10/84 and 11/88, you knew mic work was a big part of what I did.
Especially on heavier nights, I did a lot of mic work because the metal kids were an amazing audience.
On more "poser" nights it was a different vibe. It was more about being seen than being in a scene.
The trash kids were my favorites by far because they just wanted to have fun.
One-night Nuclear Assault were headlining, and they were by far one of my favorite bands.
John Connelly would always come to the booth to chill and just talk
Heck when a major label asked me about what bands I recommended, I said N. A.
I even premiered one of their albums on KRock
So, this night my mic goes out, and we could not get it working ... CHUCK WITH NO MIC??
I have a big mouth but not that big ... I NEED A MIC
The sound man was our stage manager, and he had no time to fix it and get N. A. on in time.
I tell him, let the band know I can't intro them and he does.
N.A. comes on and plays a song and then John Connelly grabs the mic and proceeds to tell the crowd I have no mic.
He continues on and starts complimenting me, saying they travel all over and nobody interacts with the audience like I do and starts a "Chuck" chant.
He then says, "this next song is for you Chuck" and Danny Lilker chimes in with ... "THIS SONG IS CALLED BUTT FUCK"
"Butt, butt, butt, butt, buttfuck, ow
Butt, butt, butt, butt, buttfuck, ow
Butt, butt, butt, butt, buttfuck, ow
Butt, butt, butt, butt, buttfuck, ow"
That was fn brilliant.
They knew I couldn't respond and had fun at my expense.
I couldn't stop laughing.
Well played ...

"Chuck was the heart and soul of metal shows at L'Amour. And L'Amour was absolutely the premier house of metal in the US." - John Connely (Nuclear Assault)
