About

The Northwestern Chemistry Department is an internationally prominent research institution. However, the research and pedagogical facets of the department are often viewed and treated as disjointed, particularly from the perspective of graduate students.

We strive to add additional channels for graduate students to develop their pedagogy while simultaneously progressing their research career. Our research connection video series allows graduate students to produce films that establish links between their research project(s) and undergraduate course concepts. By striving to create accessible and inclusive content, we help students develop their communication skills and empower the next generation of scientists.

Since our videos are used directly in NU general chemistry courses, this film series additionally boosts learning opportunities at the undergraduate level. Specifically, we design the videos to facilitate knowledge transfer, concept contextualization, and research awareness!
