Welcome to Wood Physics Lab

The major research objective is to understand the physical behavior of biological materials and the process of tree growth, from a physical point of view.

Methodology extends over the physical, mechanical, chemical and computing methods. Generation processes of the physical properties and the growth stresses of biological materials are investigated by means of the field measurement in the worldwide forest, laboratory research involving material testing, electron-microscopic observation, X-ray and UV spectroscopies, image analysis, chemical analysis and other instrumental analysis as well as theoretical modeling. On the other hand, some applied research is carried out especially on the reduction of residual stresses in logs, the quality of tropical fast growing species as well as non wood forest resources, and about some problems on environmental functions of dwelling.
