NU-SX

「地球から宇宙まで、基礎科学から応用技術まで」の理念のもと、日本大学理工学部・理工学研究科の総合力を結集し、「宇宙科学研究ユニット（Space Science Research Unit）」、通称  NU-SX (Nihon University Space Transformation) を設立します。SXとは宇宙を「利用する」だけでなく、防災・インフラ・農業や漁業の効率化など「社会を変える」ための戦略であり、「宇宙空間における活動を通じてもたらされる経済・社会の変革」のことです。

本ユニットでは、(1) 学際融合による独創的技術の創出、(2) 産学官連携による社会実装研究、(3) 国際共同研究の推進、(4) 実践的スキルを持つ宇宙人材育成に取り組みます。首都圏の立地を活かした産学連携や宇宙戦略基金等への参画を通じて、「日大×宇宙×社会」の新たな価値を創出する研究教育ハブとして、宇宙理工学イノベーションによる大学と社会の変革に貢献します。

Under the philosophy of "From Earth to Space, from Basic Science to Applied Technology," Nihon University's College of Science and Technology and Graduate School of Science and Technology are pooling our comprehensive strengths to establish the Space Science Research Unit, commonly known as NU-SX (Nihon University Space Transformation). SX represents a strategy not merely to "utilize" space, but to "transform society" through disaster prevention, infrastructure, and the efficiency of agriculture and fisheries. It signifies "economic and societal transformation brought about through activities in outer space."

This unit will: (1) create original technologies through interdisciplinary convergence, (2) conduct research for societal implementation through industry-academia-government collaboration, (3) promote international joint research, and (4) cultivate space professionals with practical skills. Leveraging its location in the Tokyo metropolitan area for industry-academia collaboration and participation in initiatives such as the Space Strategy Fund, the unit will serve as a research and education hub creating new value through "Nihon University × Space × Society." It will contribute to transforming both the university and society through space science and engineering innovation.
