As a parent or family member of a student-athlete in the North Texas Homeschool Athletic Association, I commit to the following:
1. Support and Positivity
I will support my player, their teammates, and the coaches with encouragement and positivity.
I will refrain from making negative comments during training sessions or games.
I will not speak disparagingly about other players or coaches in front of my child.
2. Respect for Coaches
I will allow the coach to perform their role without interference.
I will not coach my child or other players from the sidelines.
If I have requests, questions, or concerns, I will bring them directly to the coach in a constructive manner. I understand the coach may escalate the matter to the Timberwolves Leadership Team if necessary.
3. Constructive Communication
I will not complain to other parents or approach the coach immediately after a game or training session when emotions may be high.
I will wait at least 24 hours before contacting the coach and scheduling a time to discuss any concerns.
4. Respect for Officials
I will respect referees and their decisions without criticism or confrontation.
I will not yell at or approach referees in a disrespectful manner.
5. Sportsmanship
I will respect our opponents and their parents, offering only positive comments to or about opposing players.
I will avoid all forms of profanity while attending any venue where the Timberwolves are training or competing.
I will interact with other parents in a way that reflects positively on the team and the organization.
I will not engage in arguments or respond to inflammatory conduct from other parents.
6. Perspective and Representation
I will keep youth sports in perspective, understanding the mission of the Timberwolves is to honor Christ while developing individual players and teams as athletes.
I recognize that I represent the Timberwolves and will demonstrate good sportsmanship, remaining supportive regardless of the results of a game.
7. Accountability
I understand that compliance with this Code of Conduct is mandatory. Failure to adhere may result in disciplinary measures, including being asked to leave practices or games, or expulsion from the team.
