Travel:
To travel from Melbourne Airport, the most convenient is to take the Bendigo Shuttle bus which takes about 2 hours. Alternatively, take the Sky Bus to Southern Cross Train Station and then board a train to Bendigo. You'll need to purchase a Myki travel card from a kiosk before boarding the train. This card is necessary for all public transport in Victoria. From the Bendigo city centre, it's a 40-minute walk to La Trobe University, or 20 minute bus ride, located directly outside the Bendigo train station, by taking either the number 61,62,63 or 70 bus.
Alternatively, you can fly directly to Bendigo Airport (from Sydney only) and then book a taxi to the university.
Accommodation:
There are plenty of accommodation options in Bendigo. The Hotel Shamrock and City Centre Motel are close to Bendigo city centre with hourly buses to campus. There is also the Best Western Crystal Inn located in Strathdale, and the Brougham Arms Hotel which are slightly closer to campus, but with less public transport options.
