True North Aid is an organisation dedicated to serving and supporting northern Indigenous communities in Canada through practical humanitarian support.
In Canada, 60 percent of Indigenous children live in poverty. For over the past 150 years, the issues facing Indigenous communities in Canada have been complex and are the result of many inequities that are still present in the country. True North Aid runs programs and initiatives which address 8 areas: self determination, reconciliation, water, food, health, housing, hope, and education. As well, True North Aid offers mentorship for youth.
Learn more about True North Aid:
Every year, North Toronto runs our annual Charity Week, which is a student-led initiative in which our school runs various activities in order to raise funds for charities chosen by our students. This year, we have chosen to support True North Aid, and a key component in our fundraisers for Charity Week is the Silent Auction which is an online auction run for our parent community.
