Our school is a research-oriented university in the GaoPing area. The purpose of establishing the Hakka Research Center is to recruit more scholars in different fields through this platform to work together to inspire each other's ideas for academic creativity. Thus, we expect to assist in improving the level of Hakka research and the quality of Hakka teaching work, to train Hakka research talents and promote Hakka culture, and finally to contribute to the research of "Hakka Studies".

Our school will become an important base for the main research and promotion of Hakka culture in the GaoPing area because of the abundant humanities, educational and academic connotations. Since 2006, the Chinese Department of our school has offered the course "Introduction to Hakka Dialect", and the number of elective students is increasing, especially some non-Hakka students. Through the planning and teaching of this course, the students will gradually understand the Hakka community and expand their personal life experience from the study of the Hakka dialect.
Regarding the Hakka program, besides the original "Introduction to Hakka Dialect", we hope to have more Hakka related courses in the General Education Center in the future, including "Hakka Literature", "Hakka Language and Culture", "Hakka Folk Songs", "Hakka Cultural Creation", "Research on Hakka Dictionaries", etc. Through these courses, we can cultivate talents for future Hakka studies.
We will organize a research team to conduct academic research on Hakka. Our school has great development potential in international Hakka academic and cultural exchanges. On the one hand, we present the research results. On the other hand, we seek supports from the Hakka Committee, the Ministry of Education, the Council for Cultural Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Overseas Chinese Association, and non-governmental foundations, etc., to organize an international academic seminar on Hakka research.
We promote academic and cultural exchanges between universities, research institutions, groups and units on Hakka studies.
We will hold academic lectures, seminars, workshops, symposiums, and training courses related to Hakka.
Other issues related to international Hakka studies and Hakka development in Taiwan, including Hakka studies in Taiwan, Mainland China, Southeast Asia, and global regions is considered.
