Anti-Racist Education

Why does this site exist?

In the spring of 2020, COVID-19 made its way around the world. As many of us began working from home, another event occurred. George Floyd was murdered at the hands of the police in Minneapolis. This event led to street protests across the globe to denounce racial injustices that people of color have endured for hundreds of years.

Racism does not exist only in "other" places, it exists right here in Nova Scotia and we need to own up to that reality.

This site is created as first steps for educators, especially those who benefit from white privilege, to begin the difficult journey of reflection, education, and action. This site is for educators to find resources, to educate themselves, to provide professional learning and to start those difficult conversations where we have to check our biases and commit to doing better.
