The NIE Student Teachers’ Club’s foremost duty is to safeguard and enhance the interests of its student-teacher members. The Club achieves this by: promoting vibrancy on campus for a safe and lively environment that student-teachers feel at home in; organising events that lend a sense of vibrancy and active student life; and refining initiatives that care for the needs and wants of student-teachers in NIE. The Club also functions as the core vessel of communication between the students, subsidiary clubs, and NTU-NIE administration. Regardless of race, language, religion, and other lines of divide, the NSTC takes pride in upholding equal treatment and equality for all student-teachers in NIE.
NSTC is the main constituent club of NIE with 11 Subsidiary Clubs under its purview. They are the AI in Education Chapter, Chinese Language Education and Research (CLEAR) Club, Club ArNex, Club Jeux, Club Sci·Napse, Food and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Club, Malay Language and Cultural Society (MLCS), Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) Club, Service Learning Club (SLC), Club Embrave, and the Tamil Language Club (TLC). NSTC and its Subsidiary Clubs embody the whole landscape of student life in NIE.
The 34th NSTC Management Committee was elected on 14th September 2024 and sworn into office on 25th September 2024, witnessed by NIE student teachers, faculty, and staff, and Associate Professor Chow Jia Yi, Dean of Teacher Education & Undergraduate Programmes (TEUP). Thirteen members of the Management Committee were elected into office, with three members subsequently appointed to office.
