FAQ:
How are the facilities and equipment?
We currently have five full-size tables in a clean, well-lit space with high ceilings and an even, padded floor with good traction — ideal for footwork and movement. Balls are provided, and there’s a water fountain nearby.
Players are encouraged to bring their own paddle and water bottle.
Do I need to be a Newton resident to join?
No — everyone is welcome to join, regardless of where you live.
Is there a minimum age to participate?
No formal minimum, but children under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
How do I sign up or express interest?
Please visit our Join Us page to fill out the interest form and get started.
When and where do sessions take place?
We train weekly at Oak Hill Middle School. Check the calendar on our General Info page for exact dates and times.
How often do you meet?
At least once a week during the school semester.
What does a typical training session look like?
Sessions include multi-ball drills, practice matches, footwork, and tactical exercises. We keep it fun and flexible.
Are there summer or off-semester sessions?
We follow the school calendar, so availability depends on access to the school building. We hope to offer summer sessions when space permits.
Is there a membership fee?
Yes. We operate on a cost-sharing model, similar to a community meet-up.
Core members can join via a seasonal package. Please contact us to learn more.
Can I just drop in, or do I need to commit to a full season?
Drop-ins are welcome with advance notice. Reach out via our Contact page.
Do you offer coaching or lessons?
Yes — we offer both private and group coaching. Please inquire for current availability.
I’m a beginner — will I be out of place?
Not at all! As long as you’re eager to learn, you’ll fit right in.
What if I’m an advanced player?
We’d love to have you. Come push the group forward — and maybe share a few tips!
How are players matched or grouped during training?
We generally group by skill level, but also mix things up to help everyone improve.
Where do you play? Is there parking?
We play at Oak Hill Middle School in Newton. There is plenty of free parking available on-site and along Wheeler Rd.
Can I try it out before committing?
Yes! We encourage drop-in sessions for newcomers. We ran a trial period in June 2025, and plan to offer more in the future.
Is there a code of conduct or rules?
Yes — just a few simple expectations to keep things fun and respectful:
Be mindful of others’ space and skill level
Keep feedback positive and helpful
Support and cheer for each other’s improvement
Play safely and help create a welcoming vibe
