The National Service Scheme, popularly known as NSS, is a Government of India sponsored public service programme conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. In the year 1969, the scheme was launched in the centenary year of the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Following the ideal of Mahatma, the programme is aimed at the development of personality and to grow the idea of social development in the practical field of different walks of our society.
In Prabhu Jagtbandhu College, since its inception of NSS programme, has successfully organised various programmes inside college campus as well as in the adjoining areas of the college in adherence of the motto ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’. The NSS Cell is an actively functioning cell of Prabhu Jagatbandhu College which has served in different ways the needy people of the adjoining areas through different activities. Throughout the years, the NSS cell has undertaken various welfare projects in the adopted village named Kshetrapaltala situated under Mashila Gram Panchayat, Sankrail Block. Besides, the unit has organised programmes for the awareness programme in different aspects even in virtual modes.
