First Year

WHAT TO EXPECT IN FIRST YEAR?

As a first-year student, you will be introduced to a strong foundation of both general education and nursing core subjects. Courses such as Understanding the Self, Mathematics in the Modern World, Readings in Philippine History, and Art Appreciation will help you develop self-awareness, critical thinking, and appreciation of culture and society. Alongside these, you will begin your nursing path through Theoretical Foundation in Nursing, Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology, where you will start understanding how the human body works and how health and disease are managed.

You will also engage in skill-building and holistic development through Health Assessment, Fundamentals of Nursing Practice, Health Education, Ethics, and Physical Education, preparing you both academically and personally. Expect hands-on activities such as vital signs taking, basic nursing skills, group discussions, and return demonstrations, as well as increased responsibility for time management and independent study.
