NSMEA Development Grant

The Nova Scotia Music Educators Association offers development grants for special projects and professional development. Applicants must be active members of the NSMEA.

Consideration will be given to first-time applicants. The amount of the grant will not exceed 50% of the actual cost of the project. The selection committee determines the allocation of grants. All decisions made by the selection committee are final. An individual can only be awarded this grant, once, in a three year period. The committee reserves the right not to award the grant in any given year.

Special Projects - To assist with special projects relating to ongoing education in the field of music (performance, music education or composition).

Professional Development - To assist with study at a recognized university, institute or conducting workshop. In selecting the recipient, the committee will consider the direct application of the course to the present teaching assignment.

Upon completion of the special project or study the successful applicant will agree to do one of the following:

  1. A presentation at the fall conference,

  2. An article for the NSMEA journal/Newsletter.
