4th National School on
Heavy Ion Radiation Biology
(NSHIRB 2021)
August 17-20, 2021
Inter-University Accelerator Centre, New Delhi
Home
The school is designed to extend an initial training in the field of Heavy Ion Radiation Biology to the students and researchers of life science. The research field has wide applications in tumour therapy, space radiation study and fundamental molecular biology. The subject matters discussed in the school would mostly be limited to in-vitro systems. This year the school will be organized in online mode.
Topics to be covered
Interaction of ionizing radiation with matter and basic concepts
Radiation induced damage and repair mechanism
Acute effects and radiation carcinogenesis
Flash carbon therapy, Radon therapy and Signaling
Radiation induced Chromosome aberration
Molecular Biology Techniques: Western blot, RT PCR
Florescence based assays, mFISH, FACS
Chemical and Biological dosimetry
Statistical methods in Biology
Track Structure and evolution of mathematical Modelling of radiation interaction
