Pioneering the Future of Scientific Discovery

Funded by an $18.1 million award from the National Science Foundation (NSF), AI-BIOME is a cutting-edge research initiative spearheaded by the CUNY City College of New York (CCNY), the Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC), and Brookhaven National Lab.

Out of a monumental $400 million distributed among 20 elite labs nationwide, AI-BIOME stands proudly as the only node in New York State and the broader New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut Metro area. Our mission is to accelerate scientific research at a robust and large scale by bridging the gap between artificial intelligence, robotics, and biological synthesis.

The sky is the limit for what AI-BIOME can achieve. As we delve deeper into autonomously designing proteins and materials, our discoveries will materially improve the lives of everyday people by:

• Developing materials that surpass existing drug delivery mechanisms.

• Creating brand-new, sustainable bioplastics.

• Enabling highly efficient energy harvesting technologies.

• Aiding in the cure of non-viral diseases, such as cancer and Alzheimer's.

A National Resource for Researchers

AI-BIOME is designed to be an accessible, national powerhouse for scientific progress. Researchers from all over America have the ability to remotely design and execute experiments through our ecosystem. This framework gives experts nationwide unprecedented, remote access to the state-of-the-art lab facilities at the CUNY CCNY Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI) and the Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC).
