We are excited to recruit PhD and MS student(s)

BEFORE you  write to me, PLEASE:

1) For PhD applicants: Think carefully WHY do you want to pursue a PhD (because, guess what! its not a 'natural' next step after your MS AND is neither a prerequisite for being successful in life generally!). Then follow point 3 below.

2) For MS applicants/ interns: I would like to see some overlap in our interests, so please ensure you spell that out in your first email. 

3) For all students: I do expect that you have the skills needed to work with us (simply "I love being outdoors will not make it"). These skills typically are one or more of the following: strong field plant identification skills, ability to work in tough field conditions, strong natural history background of the landscape/taxa you want to work with, basic analytical skills.

4) Read how to cold email professors (e.g., here). Then read our 'Values' page. Then email me on ashish.nerlekar@iiserpune.ac.in attaching a copy of your CV.
