Week One (June 1-7, 2026): Black River by Nathan Yungerberg
Black River is an afro-surreal family adventure where ten-year-old Jonas, grieving his father’s death, is swept into a mythical canoe journey down Wisconsin’s Black River. Guided by imagination and strange beings, he navigates love, loss, and the search for closure. Nathan Yungerberg is a Brooklyn-based Afro-surrealist playwright and storyteller. He is head writer for the Webby-nominated podcast Live from Mount Olympus and has written for Sesame Street. His plays have been developed by National Black Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, Joe’s Pub, The Apollo, and others. Directed by TBA. Week Two (June 8-14, 2026): The Time Machine by Pauline David-Sax and Kristine Jieun Lee
Last Tuesday Bailey said a Thing to her best friend Nia that made Nia really mad. Apologizing’s hard…maybe building a time machine would be easier? Pauline David-Sax is an award-winning playwright and children’s book author living in Brooklyn, NY. She is a member of Dramatists Guild, SCBWI, Maestra and Honor Roll!, an advocacy group of women+ playwrights over 40. She is also a lyricist currently participating in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. Kristine Jieun Lee is a composer, lyricist, pianist, and arranger based in New York and South Korea, whose work spans musical theatre and classical concert music, with a particular focus on narrative-driven storytelling. Week Three (June 15-21, 2026): Camp Cattywampus by Abigail Duclos and Tess Inderbitzin
Camp Cattywampus is a full-length play with music, poetry, painting, and dance. It follows a group of teenage girls as they navigate grief, queerness, art, and rage at a performing arts summer camp. Playwrights Abigail Duclos and Tess Inderbitzin, longtime friends and collaborators, are NYC-based playwrights and songwriters whose stories laugh, cry, dance, and draw blood.
