We are excited to announce that four special guests from our sister city, Niimi, Japan, will soon be visiting New Paltz! Our association is currently preparing to welcome them and looks forward to sharing cultural experiences, building friendships, and strengthening the bonds between our two communities. Please stay tuned for more details about their visit and upcoming events. We are eager to give our guests a warm New Paltz welcome!
Getting Involved in NPIEA: Interested in meeting and visiting with our friends from our sister city of Niimi, Japan? The New Paltz International Exchange Association requires a community effort when we have guests arrive from our sister city of Niimi, Japan. We also plan delegations to visit Niimi, and are always trying to get more people from New Paltz to join in. Why not contact us and see how you can get involved!
There are many ways to get involved:
When delegations visit New Paltz:
1. Host families are needed for visiting delegation members.
2. Event planning.
3. Coordinate transportation. We often need to depend on private cars for moving people in the New Paltz area.
Preparing for New Paltz visits to Niimi:
1. We always encourage people to get involved in visits to Niimi. It is a great experience to go and represent New Paltz. You will see wonderful sights, meet great people, and see another culture on a personal level.
2. Help in planning our presentation(s) while we visit.
Possible exchanges:
We are always interested in ideas for exchanges between the two towns; for example, a photo exchange, and art exchange, pen/email pals, etc.
