• Jessica Malaty Rivera is an infectious disease epidemiologist and science communicator with experience in emerging infectious disease surveillance, public health policy, and vaccine advocacy. Rivera specializes in translating complex scientific concepts into accessible information for diverse audiences, and has served as the Science Communication Lead for the COVID Tracking Project and as a Senior Science Communication Advisor at the de Beaumont Foundation.

• Morgan Shidler is a photographer, facilitator, and wellness coach dedicated to fostering authenticity and sustainable well-being. She co-founded That's What She Said, an intersectional community uplifting diverse womxn’s voices, and developed the Hustle & Play™ program to help individuals align their lives with core values. With a background in public education and a passion for storytelling, Morgan uses her creative and coaching expertise to inspire connection, joy, and mindful living.

• Join us for Fountain Community Garden Volunteer Day on April 12th from 10am to 12pm where we cultivate a thriving, inclusive space in East Hollywood for organic gardening. Whether you're an experienced gardener or just starting out, you can lend a hand with composting, mulching, weeding, and more while connecting with fellow green thumbs. Bring your enthusiasm, comfortable outdoor clothing, and even food scraps for our compost program to help us grow sustainably!

• Join us for the Volunteer Meet-Up at Dockweiler Beach, Tower 49, from 10 AM to 12 PM! Located at the third parking lot northwest of the Vista Del Mar & Imperial Hwy entrance, parking is $9, so we encourage carpooling or biking. Gloves, grabbers, reusable trash bags, sunscreen, and a water refill station will be provided to those who are able to RSVP before spots fill—just bring a reusable water bottle and complete the individual sign-up, including the Surfrider waiver, for all participants.
