NPHS Advisory Committees
at Northern Panhandle Head Start
The goal of this event is to provide guidance and input into the planning; operations, and monitoring of the health, education, and community services components for Early Head Start and Head Start.
Health
Linking children to ongoing sources of continuous, accessible health care; Ensuring that the learning environments in the home and at the Head Start center supports each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development; Establishing and implementing policies and procedures for responding to medical and dental health emergencies; Helping programs establish ongoing collaborative partnerships with community organizations to make it easier for children and families to access health services that are responsive to their needs; etc.
Education
Coaching/ mentoring opportunities and/or data; Training opportunities for staff and parents; Data related to classroom interactions and child assessment; Family engagement in the classroom or in training; Review of school readiness goals and/ or associated data; etc.
Family & Community
Importance of family involvement; family interest survey; Parent Meetings; Policy Council; Community Events; etc.
Advisory Committee Meeting Information
We meet three times a year from 12pm-1pm.

Northern Panhandle Head Start
NPHS is located across from the Wheeling Country Day School.
The Health Advisory meeting will take place on the second floor in the Board Room.
The Education Advisory meeting will take place on the second floor in the Conference Room.
The Family & Community Advisory meeting will take place on the first floor in the Multi-Purpose Room.
