COACH SANTIAGO
April 22, 2026 – Newbury Park, CA — Newbury Park High School is proud to announce, pending CVUSD board approval, the hiring of Autumn Santiago as the new Head Coach of the Girls Basketball Program. A passionate leader with experience at both the high school and elite club levels, Santiago brings a dynamic, “person-first, athlete-second” philosophy focused on developing confident, high-IQ athletes on and off the court. Coach Santiago most recently served as an Assistant Varsity Coach at Oak Park High School, contributing to player development, strength and conditioning, and fostering a team culture built on confidence and discipline.
In addition to her high school coaching experience, Santiago has extensive player development experience through club and individual training, coaching youth to high school athletes with a focus on skill development, basketball IQ, and confidence, emphasizing ball handling, shooting, finishing, and decision making under pressure.
“I am passionate about creating an environment where young women feel supported, challenged, and empowered. My goal is to build a competitive, connected team culture that emphasizes confidence, discipline, and growth both on and off the court,” said Santiago.
Santiago is known for building strong relationships with athletes and families while fostering a disciplined, positive, and empowering environment. Her leadership emphasizes skill development, mental performance, and preparing student-athletes for success beyond the game.
Newbury Park High School looks forward to the future under Santiago’s leadership as she continues to grow the program and inspire the next generation of student athletes.
