Rules to follow as a TFO or when authorised to use TFO perks

Being a TFO is a prestigious position in NPAS and the Police Service. You are very visible to colleagues and the public, the perks awarded are not to be taken lightly or misused.  If you are found to be breaching the rules below it will be seen as unprofessionalism and depending on the nature, recurrence (has it happened before) etc of the breach you may be subject to anything from TFO perk suspension, divisional strike to a Police Service punishment using T1 etc.

• Never land on the road, path or dangerous places 

• Landing should be only in/on carparks, rooftops, fields, hills, beaches, roofs and large open spaces.

• Only AR trained officers should be shooting out of the helicopter

• Only rappel when the helicopter is hovering at a safe height

• Flying must be of the upper most professional standard, failing to meet standard can be seen as misuse.

• GTA flying (server rule breaks) will not be tolerated)

• You can transport criminals in helicopters, however it is advised you use it as a last resort (no transport units available, suspect is on a roof, etc) 

• Never /carry anyone in the helicopter

• Consider scene containment when landing your helicopter in order to keep it safe.

• A PCSO/SO may only complete one hour of their total ride along hours whilst in a helicopter.
