The Fay and the Man
Dalia looked down the long hallway to massive tanks filled with hardened orange liquid on either side of it, in each tank was a single creature each more freakished than the last, a scorpion with a whale's tail there, an angel with two differently colored wings over here, a creature made of golden dust over there. Dalia couldn't comprehend what she was seeing how could these things exist? Who made them? Were they even made? The man beside her smiled, his previously brooding expression now held excitement and awe.
- "Do you see now? All of these incredible creatures, all these anomalies, aren't they incredible!" He looked at Dalia waiting, hoping she would acquiesce. Dalia placed her hand upon one of the tanks. "How... Are they..." The man interjected "yes, it was the only way to preserve them they died a painless death and the amber will forever immortalize their creation." He looked sorrowful as if he really believed he was making a necessary sacrifice. Dalia jerked away horrified, she looked at the cat-like creature before her then again at her crystal clear wings, was she an anomaly deserving to be preserved? She looked back at the man, he looked confused and scared, was she really willing to accept this stranger when he committed such atrocities?
