November, Samhain in Irish, marks the beginning of winter. The pagan festival of Samhain starts on November 1st and is the end of the harvest season and beginning of the darker half of the year. November is a time when ancient traditions and beliefs are still visible today.

Lunchtime session - Supporting Volunteers - The Essentials, November 11th at 1pm - 2pm
Join us online for a bite-sized training session at a time that suits you, and discover the essentials of supporting volunteers.

Fundamentals of Volunteer Engagement - November 19th & 20th at 10am - 12.30pm
This course is for those who are new to the topic of volunteer management and leadership, or who wish to improve their skillset. This two-module course takes place on both days. Participants will need to attend both modules. The sessions are delivered by trainers from the Volunteer Cntre Network and Volunteer Ireland.

Fostering a diverse and inclusive volunteer community – November 25th at 10am - 12.00pm
Discover the essentials of building more inclusive, diverse, and welcoming volunteer programmes. The 2 hour session offers an opportunity for volunteer leaders to reflect on inclusive practices that support diverse participation within volunteer programmes. It encourages thoughtful approaches to engagement, fostering environments where everyone feels valued and heard. Participants will explore how to build stronger connections and sustain inclusive communities that embrace continuous growth and improvement.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

Learn approaches for inclusive recruitment and outreach
Participate in a breakout activity to apply learning

Cabin Café is a free monthly social coffee morning for those living with dementia and their carers. Drop ins welcome. It will take place on Tuesday, November 4th from 10am to 12pm in The Old School House on Barracks Street in Carlow Town, and on Wednesday, November 5th from 10am to 12pm in Teach Bhríde, Tullow, Co. Men's Walk & Talk - A Free, Friendly and Inclusive Walking Group for Men is an Active Carlow initiative. It is free to join and gives men a chance to connect and get active outdoors in a welcoming atmosphere. This will take place on Mondays at 1pm.

Carlow Older People's Council Information Roadshow in partnership with Carlow Fire Service, is in Bagenalstown on Tuesday, November 18th from 10:00am to 1pm in Bagenalstown Fire Station.
