AuraaByte ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application, Expense Tracker: Money Manager (the "App"), collects, uses, and safeguards your information.
A. SMS and Financial Transaction Data (Sensitive Permission)
On-Device SMS Parsing: The App accesses incoming and existing SMS messages to detect, extract, and categorize financial transaction details (such as debits, credits, bank names, and account balance updates) using automated on-device regular expressions (Regex).
Strictly Local Processing: All SMS analysis and financial data parsing occur entirely on your device. We do not upload, transmit, store, or share your personal SMS messages, OTPs, contacts, or financial transaction logs to our servers or any third-party servers.
B. User-Entered Financial Data
Any custom income, expense categories, budgets, or notes you manually log into the App are saved locally on your device via an internal, encrypted SQLite/Room database.
C. Automatically Collected Technical & Advertising Data
The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify your device, serve advertisements, and measure performance:
Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID).
Usage & Diagnostics Data: Interaction metrics, crash logs, and performance statistics.
To provide core personal finance automation, the App requests the following permissions:
READ_SMS / RECEIVE_SMS: Used strictly to read bank-related transaction alerts locally to automatically log expenses and income. Non-financial text messages are ignored and never stored.
INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required solely to load third-party advertisements via Google AdMob and check network connectivity.
We integrate third-party software development kits (SDKs) to monetize and support the App. These services may collect data governed by their respective privacy policies:
Google AdMob: Used to serve personalized and non-personalized banner and interstitial advertisements.
You can opt out of personalized ads by adjusting your device settings under Google Settings > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization (or resetting your Advertising ID).
Offline-First Architecture: Your transaction logs, budgets, and visual charts are stored exclusively on your local device storage.
No Remote Account Creation: We do not require you to create an account, log in with social providers, or provide personal identity information (e.g., name, phone number, email address) to use the App.
Data Security: Because your financial data remains on your physical hardware, protecting your physical device with a PIN, biometric lock, or password ensures the confidentiality of your financial records.
Local Deletion: You can delete individual transactions, categories, or all stored expense records directly within the App at any time.
Complete Removal: Uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data via your Android settings permanently erases all stored transaction databases from your device.
The App is not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or the applicable legal age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate measures.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable regulatory standards. Any changes will be effective immediately upon updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
