Ever since updating to android version 13, I've noticed that my wallpaper moves to the right whenever I swipe up to open the app drawer. Periodically the wallpaper seems to get stuck towards the right as well.

I have wallpaper scrolling off, I like having the whole wallpaper on the screen, but for some reason move has decided it wants to zoom in an scroll my wallpaper left when swiping up to open the app drawer.

It also scrolls the wallpaper left when long pressing to open the settings, and if I switch from swipe to button to open the app drawer, it still scrolls th wallpaper. It's bugging me so much as it feels unnatural to use. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated

S21 on Android 12, used nova prime for as long as I can possibly remember and this has never been an issue. I tried to use OneUI and immediately found it doesn't have a quick search option - it's 2021...

There are two errors: one is a black column after setting a wallpaper as noted in this post _bar_on_left_side_of_wallpaper/ and another is a trace leave by icons when changing screen as in this screenshot hitting "home" kind of clears the screen but the error is still there if anything changes in the screen, like if the refresh doesn't work properly

This isn't up to Nova Launcher, or any 3rd party launcher, but up to the system. If your system does not allow you to enable gesture navigation when using a 3rd party launcher, unfortunately there is nothing Nova Launcher can do about that. Most Android 11 or newer devices do allow using gesture navigation with 3rd party launchers, however sometimes there are bugs or behavior differences between gesture navigation when using their launcher versus another one. Unfortunately this is not something Nova Launcher, or any 3rd party launcher, can change, it is dependent on the system, Google and your device manufacturer.

Nova, nor and other 3rd party launcher, has any access to the recent apps screen in any way. That's all up to your device OEM and Android and the recent apps screen is tied to the stock launcher of your device. You will experience these issues in all 3rd party launchers, not your stock launcher and not just specifically Nova. You will need to contact your device OEM directly with any issues regarding the recent apps screen.

You can get in touch through Nova Settings > Contact support or sending an email directly to(support@novalauncher.com). If you're having a specific issue, using the Contact support button in the app will provide us with detailed information that will help.

In the fifth beta update since the Branch takeover in June last year, Nova Launcher has added several customization features, and a few fixes to make life easier for personalization enthusiasts. Nova Launcher allows dynamic theming of the app drawer, home screen, and text, but options for widget customization are a fresh addition in v8.0.4 of the launcher. You can just long-press any widget with dynamic theming support and customize its color, or revert to the default where it matches other UI elements.

While we're on the topic of color pickers, it would be remiss to not mention Nova offering more dynamic theming colors from the default palette. The latest beta build offers 36 colors for UI surfaces, and six for accents, all derived from the Material You dynamic color palette based on your active wallpaper. In comparison, older versions gave you just 12 themed choices for UI surfaces. You can check out this change under the Color settings for the app drawer, folders, and Nova Search.

3. Abstract ThemeLinebit is an awesome icon pack having linear gradients in a range of designs and colors. So we needed a similar wallpaper and we got it from another great app, Resplash. In neon lights wallpaper along with Linebit, the home screen looks abstract and futuristic at the same time. Do try this theme on Nova launcher.Wallpaper: Resplash (Neon lights by Michael Aleo)Icons: LinebitWidgets: Stock Analogue ClockNova Settings: Search bar above icons, Search Bar with Google Assistant, Background Transparency 0%4. Modern ThemeThis theme is for those users who want a minimal look, but also want some modern elements with abstract art in the background. Besides that, a classic widget looks beautiful on the home screen. We have used Walli for wallpaper and the Minma icon pack on top of Nova launcher.Wallpaper: Walli (Shards by cafelab)Icons: MinmaWidgets: Minimalistic TextNova Settings: Transparent widget, Dark Search bar above icons, 135% icon size

Do you like groovy wallpapers that go along with the icon pack perfectly? Then use this Far Out theme on Nova Launcher. We have applied a wallpaper from Backdrops and used the hugely popular AfterGlow icon pack to give a radiance appearance.Wallpaper: Backdrops (Far Out by Kxnt)Icons: AfterGlowWidgets: AfterGlow Analog ClockNova Settings: Search bar placement below the dock, Adaptive Icons Squircle, Persistent Search Bar turned on, Transparent notification bar6. Accented Dark ThemeAll of us love dark theme so here we have used an accented dark wallpaper, along with the Gladient icon pack on Nova launcher. The icon pack is slightly muted and not the vibrant, but I love the flat look. The theme looks very much like iOS.Wallpaper: Walpy (by Jason Dent)Icons: GladientWidgets: Spotify WidgetNova Settings: Night mode activated, Horizontal app drawer, Icon size 130%, Padding around icons increased.7. Flat Colorful ThemeIf you are looking for a Nova Launcher theme with flat icons and a colorful wallpaper, this is the one for you.

To do that, tap on "My Drive," which should bring up a screen showing the contents of your Google Drive cloud storage. Locate the folder with the plus sign in it, which is in the upper-right corner. When you tap this icon, it will create a new folder and give you the option to name it. Name this new folder "Nova Backups." Once you've created this folder, a new page will appear, with the button "Select Folder." Once you press this, it should return you to the previous screen. Once you select "Save" in the lower-right corner, you'll have successfully backed up your launcher.

Just tried to set up a new wallpaper on my new Pixel 7 Pro phone, but they all get stretched in a very ugly way. The preview picture is fine, but when I set up the wallpaper it gets really ugly. This is a bug or I should do something different?

I was noticing this exact issue when I was creating wallpapers for my Pixel 7 a couple days ago. Made a bunch of photos the exact screen resolution for the lock screen (1080x2400) or wider ones for the home screen (2160x2400) and found they always previewed perfectly but zoomed in slightly when set. It did this on the stock launcher, Nova, and when set through Simple Gallery.

My fix ended up being to pad out the image 10% to 1188x2640 (needs 120 pixels extra top and bottom, 54 left and right) to fix the lock/single screen ones and oddly enough add the same amount of padding on the wide home screen scrolling wallpapers (final resolution 2268x2640) and then they end up fitting perfectly pixel for pixel. I assumed the wider ones would need to be 2376 wide at first as well but when looking at the edge I could see the border I added.

Once you know the trick then creating images to work for wallpapers isn't that hard but it really shouldn't require this at all, I don't recall this being a problem on my Pixel 3 I just switched from.

AdamBv1 Ok, but no one is creating wallpapers in 2268x2640 size, so I can't download wallpapers in this size and manually is hard to modify it while maintaining the same aspect ratio and not to stretch it ugly. I think this bug should be definitely resolved because it makes the user experience quite bad.

The short version is that the colors in your wallpapers are outside the color gamut the screen can reproduce. According to GSMArena the screen is only capable of 16 million so its very likely the colors in your wallpaper are in missing 4% of a full 8-bit display. Desaturation and local contrast adjustments should clean that up.

As I have found, Marshmallow normally colors the status bar icons (Wi-Fi, Battery, Clock) on the launcher (home screens) by taking the colour of the topmost region of the wallpaper currently set and tinting the icons to a darker version of it.

This is all well and good if you have the sky there in your wallpaper, or something light-coloured; but if you have a night-time cityscape as your wallpaper, it colours the icons to be "Darker Than Black" (pun intended). So, magically, your Wi-Fi, Battery, Clock and everything else just disappears from the status bar. Only they haven't disappeared. Set a light wallpaper or a dark one with the top region light, and they're back. ff782bc1db
