This Privacy Policy explains what information Nourix (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, how we use it, where it is processed, and your choices. By using Nourix, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

Nourix is a mobile nutrition and fitness coaching app. It helps you log meals, track calories and macros, scan food, use voice logging, sync activity data, and chat with an AI coach.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account & identity

• Email address

• Display name

• Profile photo URL (if provided by Google Sign-In)

• User ID created by our authentication system

If you sign in with Google, Google shares basic profile details you authorize. If you register with email/password, we store your account credentials securely through our authentication provider (we do not store your raw password on our own servers).

2.2 Profile, goals & preferences

• Age, sex, height, weight

• Fitness goal (for example fat loss, muscle gain, maintain)

• Activity level

• Diet preference (for example vegetarian / non-veg)

• Allergies / intolerances you select

• Country (used to localize food suggestions)

• Theme, units, and notification preferences

2.3 Nutrition & health data you enter

• Meal logs (food names, quantities, calories, protein, carbs, fat, meal type, notes)

• Daily summaries and adherence scores

• Water intake

• Weight logs and trends

• Fasting / habit tracking data you choose to log

• AI coach chat messages you send and coach replies

• Generated daily insights / tips

2.4 Health Connect / device activity (optional, only with permission)

If you allow Health Connect or related permissions, we may read:

• Steps

• Distance

• Active / total calories burned

• Sleep

• Heart rate

• Weight

• Floors climbed

• Related historical health data available through Health Connect

We use this to show habits/progress in the app. You can deny or revoke these permissions in Android settings at any time.

2.5 Camera, photos & microphone (optional)

• Camera / photos: used for AI food scanning. The image is sent to our AI backend to estimate food and macros.

• Microphone: used for voice meal logging. Your spoken words are converted to text on-device (speech recognition) and the transcript may be sent to our AI backend to estimate the meal.

2.6 App, device & diagnostics data

• App interactions and basic analytics events

• Crash logs and performance diagnostics

• Device/app technical info needed for push notifications and reliability (for example device tokens)

• Local app settings stored on your device (for example theme, trial/premium flags, reminder preferences)

2.7 Purchases / subscriptions (if enabled)

If you buy Premium through Google Play, Google processes payment details. We receive subscription status (for example active / expired) so we can unlock Pro features. We do not receive your full card number.

3. How we use your information

• Create and manage your account

• Calculate nutrition targets and show daily progress

• Provide meal logging, scanner, voice logging, and coaching

• Personalize food suggestions using your country, diet, allergies, goals, and recent meals

• Sync optional Health Connect data into habits/progress views

• Send reminders/notifications you enable

• Improve reliability, fix bugs, and understand feature usage

• Provide customer support when you email us

• Comply with law and protect against abuse

4. Where your data is processed & who processes it

Nourix uses trusted service providers:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore database, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging) — account login, cloud storage of your profile/meals/progress, crash reporting, analytics, and notifications.

• Google Sign-In — optional account sign-in.

• Google Play / Play services — app distribution, integrity, and billing (if subscriptions are offered).

• Nourix AI backend (hosted on cloud infrastructure such as Render) — processes coach messages, food images, and voice-meal transcripts to return AI results. The backend may call an AI model provider (for example OpenRouter / Gemini models) to generate responses and estimates.

• On-device speech recognition (Android speech services) — converts voice to text for meal logging.

• Health Connect — optional reading of activity/health metrics you authorize.

These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies, and only as needed to provide Nourix features.

5. AI features — what is sent

• Coach chat: your message plus limited context (goal, diet, country, targets, recent foods/chat) may be sent to the AI backend.

• Food scanner: the selected food photo (image data) is sent to the AI backend for recognition and macro estimates.

• Voice logging: the transcript of what you said (and optional clarifications/country) is sent to the AI backend.

AI outputs are estimates only and may be inaccurate. Do not submit information you do not want processed for these features.

6. Legal bases / why we process data

Depending on your region, we process data to:

• Provide the service you request (contract / service delivery)

• Operate and secure the app (legitimate interests)

• Meet legal obligations when required

• Process optional sensitive/health-related inputs with your permission/consent

7. Data retention

• Account and logged nutrition/profile data are kept while your account is active

• If you request deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data from our primary systems within a reasonable period, unless law requires longer retention

• Backups, logs, and analytics may persist for a limited time before automatic expiry

8. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We share data only with:

• Service providers listed above (to run the app)

• Authorities if legally required

• Professional advisors if needed for legal/compliance reasons

9. Security

We use industry-standard protections such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), authenticated access, and cloud security controls. No system is 100% secure.

10. Your rights & choices

• Access or update profile information in the app

• Revoke camera, mic, notification, or Health Connect permissions in device settings

• Sign out / stop using the app

• Request account or data deletion by emailing us

• Depending on your country, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data

11. Children’s privacy

Nourix is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum digital consent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

12. Health disclaimer

Nourix provides general wellness, nutrition tracking, and coaching information. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.

13. International transfers

Your data may be processed on servers in different countries (for example where Google Firebase or our AI hosting provider operates). Where required, appropriate safeguards are used by those providers.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will change the “Last updated” date when we do. Continued use of Nourix after updates means you accept the revised policy.
